Brenda Edenfield Turner

Ms. Brenda Edenfield Turner, 74, of Soperton, passed away Monday, August 31, 2026, at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia. She was born on June 29, 1952, in Swainsboro to the late Richard Edenfield, Jr. and Juanita Moxley Edenfield.

Ms. Turner was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Billy Edenfield.

Brenda’s life was defined by a nurturing spirit, unconditional love, and a deeply giving heart. For over 30 years, she was the proud owner of Brenda’s Daycare in Millen, where she was affectionately known to generations as “Miss Brenda” or “Nina.” Brenda didn’t just run a business; she loved every single child who walked through her doors as if they were her very own, and she found immense joy in watching them grow up over the decades.

A woman of many talents, Brenda possessed a vibrant creative energy. She spent countless hours pursuing her favorite hobbies, including photography, quilting, and embroidering. Many of these memories were made alongside her dear friend, Sharon Henry. The two shared a special bond, talking daily, sewing and bringing their creative ideas to life together. Brenda poured her soul into her crafts, finding true fulfillment in making quilts for her family, capturing memories by taking pictures of Zan, and embroidering beautiful shirts for Harrison and Hayes.

Of all her accomplishments, Brenda’s most treasured titles were “Mama” and “Mema.” Her love for her children, Michael and Misty, their spouses Shannon and Brad, and her beloved grandsons was greater than life itself. As a mother, she made countless sacrifices, willingly doing without to ensure her children always had everything they needed. Her legacy of selflessness, creativity, and boundless love will live on forever in the hearts of her family, her lifelong friends, and the countless children she raised as her own.

Survivors include her son, Michael Turner (Shannon) of Millen; daughter, Misty Collins (Brad) of Soperton; grandsons, Zan Turner, Harrison Collins, Hayes Collins; several other family members and many friends.

Graveside Service will be Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Swainsboro City Cemetery with Reverend Mark Hardin officiating. The family will receive friends after the service.
