Mrs. Brenda S. Screws, 57, of Kite died Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Screws was born in Jenkins County but had lived most of her life in Emanuel County. She was preceded in death by her father Frank H. Suggs, Sr. and husband of 41 years Arthur G. Screws, Jr. Mrs. Screws was employed with Ogeechee Behavioral Health Services were she worked as a mental health technician helping children. She loved working in the garden and spending time with her family and grand children.
Survivors include her sons, Brandon and Amy Screws of Kite, Dustin Screws of Summertown, and Dakota Suggs of Kite; daughter, Dawn and Richard Bedgood of Swainsboro; mother, Geneva Cauley Suggs of Millen; brothers, Frank Suggs Jr. of Millen, Alton Suggs of Sylvania; sister, Frankie Niedorf of San Antonio TX; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 11 o’clock Friday, morning August 26, with the Reverend Allen Meeks officiating. Burial will be in the Kite City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Forhand, Shannon Burke, Dallas Suggs, Johnny Mills and David Murphey.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Chapman Funeral Home.
