Mrs. Callie D. Martin, 70, of Swainsboro died Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at the Uni-Health Post Acute Care in Swainsboro following an extended illness.
Mrs. Martin was born September 25, 1943 in Adrian to the late Royce Durden and Lou Ella Harrell Durden. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Richard Hermann, Sr., and J. D. Martin; brother, Ray Durden. Mrs. Martin was a life long resident of Emanuel County. She worked with the Atkinson Pecan Company in Garfield. Mrs. Martin enjoyed fishing and attended New Testament Christian Academy.
Survivors include her sons, Toby (Peggy) Durden of Garfield and Richard Hermann, Jr. of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Chad Durden and Shana Durden both of Garfield, Richard Hermann, III of Swainsboro and Cathy Reyes of Portal; 5 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon, June 5, 2014 with Sister Vera Daniels officiating. Interment will be in the Kea’s United Methodist Church Cemetery near Adrian.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening, June 4, 2014 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Allan Johnson, Tal Wimberly, Wesley Jordan, Chris Lawrence, Ricky Durden and Craig Williamson.
