Carl Young

Mr. Carl Young, 91, of Swainsboro passed away Monday, May 6, 2024, at the Emanuel County Nursing Home following an extended illness.

Mr. Young was born on April 5, 1933, in Emanuel County to the late Luther Gardner Young and Wilhelmina Brown Young.  He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Clarence Young; sisters, Lillian Harper, Marie Harper, Christine Merrion, Margaret Brinson and Ruby Lynch.  Mr. Young loved to make and repair wagons and cars as a child.  He was driving at the age of 10.  Mr. Young was a member of Coleman Chapel A.M.E. Church.

Mr. Young is survived by his sons, Quavius Rountree of Swainsboro, Timothy Young of Vidalia; brothers, James Young and Clifford Young, both of Swainsboro; special companion, Glennell Eason of Swainsboro; special nieces, Annette James, Star Young and Shawanica Hackett, all of Swainsboro; several other nieces, nephews and many friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Hardin officiating.
