Mrs. Carolyn “Candy” Barber Carroll, 41, of East Dublin, passed away Monday, July 17, 2023, at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin.
Candy was born November 24, 1981, to Greg Barber and Debra Purvis Barber in Augusta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her mother, Debra Purvis Barber, maternal grandparents, Sam & Carolyn Purvis. Candy had the biggest heart. She always put others first before herself and she was always the first to give to someone in need but never asked for a thing in return. Candy loved her family. She loved her mama more than words could explain, but she was a Daddy’s girl. Her brother Jonathan even after shooting her with BB guns and terrorizing her growing up like brothers and sisters do, she always knew how much he loved her and they had a bond that most brothers and sisters don't have. Growing up she would spend many nights with Uncle Paul and Aunt Debra. When their daughter Paige came along, she became her world. Many days were spent at the beach slinging Paige around.
Candy and Donut got married on August 31, 2013. But the happiest day of her life was February 28, 2019… the day the adoption was finalized for her three beautiful children: Justice, Rhyland, and Raleigh. She loved her children more than anything in this world and was so proud of how they are growing up.
She had a huge group of friends. She was bound to know someone everywhere she went. Candy loved dirt track racing and she loved ALL of her racing friends. If you were ever fortunate to get a pep talk from Candy Carroll, you were truly blessed. Candy was good at telling you what you needed to hear… not necessarily what you wanted to hear. She didn’t sugar coat anything. She also loved riding dirt roads on her golf cart or buggy. When she wasn’t at a racetrack or spending time with family, she was traveling. She loved cruises, casinos, and playing Bingo. A sweet friend said it best. “If you knew her, you loved her… and if you did not know her, you missed something incredible.”
She is survived by her husband, Raymond “Donut” Paul Carroll, Jr.; father, Greg Barber; sons, Justice Carroll, and Rhyland Carroll; daughter, Raleigh Carroll; brother, Jonathon (Ashley) Barber, all of East Dublin; nephew, Garrett Barber; several special cousins, aunts, uncles and many friends.
