Mr. Carther “Fred” Williams, Jr., 65, of Swainsboro passed away Saturday, January 10, 2025, at his residence. He was born on September 4, 1960, in Swainsboro to the late Carther Williams, Sr. and Cora Bullock Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, James and Neloise Edwards. Fred was a forklift operator for Huskavarna before his retirement. He attended Swainsboro High School. Fred enjoyed sports and loved music
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Johnson Williams; son, Gianni K. Foster, Sr.; grandchildren, Gianni K. Foster, Jr., A’mya Foster, Ayaana Foster, Tykeria Williams, Abreah Kirby; sisters, Cheryl Troupe (John), Cathy Williams, Carolyn Lane; sisters-in-law, Gertrude Ricks, Joda Ann Williams, Jacquelyn Smith (Tony); brother-in-law, Joe Jolphin, Jr.; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 15, 2026, in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Leroy Williams officiating.
Interment will be at Swainsboro City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Tony Brown, Larry Washington, Bobby Jackson, Johnny Adams, Benny Troupe and Lucas Troupe.
