Cecil A Hood

Mr. Cecil A. Hood, 68, of Kite, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023 at his residence following an extended illness.

Mr. Hood was born September 20, 1954, to Herman Hood and Bernice Jones Hood. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Susan Williams Hood; granddaughter, Audrey Hood; brothers, Johnnie Hood, Larry Hood and Kenneth Hood. He enjoyed fishing. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Hood worked at Duke Paint and Body for 42 years.

He is survived by sons, Brandon Hood and David Hood, both of Kite; daughter, Kelly (Jottie) Burgamy of Wrightsville; brother, James (Candy) Hood of Kite; sisters, Albina McGowan of Metter and Sandy Hodges of Swainsboro; 8 grandchildren, 2 great grand-daughters and several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 19, 2023, in the Chapel at Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Keith Hood officiating.

Interment will follow in Moxley Cemetery in Swainsboro.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M to 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Jeff Newsome, Donald Peebles, Brandon Smith, Earl Flanders, Danny McGowan, Noah Coleman, Michael Woods and Noah McGowan

Honorary Pallbearers are Jimmy Claxton and Sonny Norris.
