Mr. Charles Wyman Powell, 71, of Adrian passed away Sunday, afternoon, October 23, 2016 at his residence following a brief illness.
Mr. Powell was born January 13, 1945 in Kite, Ga. to the late Ell Powell and Alice Garnto Powell. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Powell was a truck driver; he was the owner operator of Wyman Powell Trucking. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and gardening. Mr. Powell was a Member of Faith Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Powell of Adrian; son, Jack (Jennifer) Cason of Statesboro; Daughters, Angie (Dale) Walker of Meeks, Vickie Hutcheson (Daniel Meeks) of Meeks, Karen (Daniel) Atkins of Ft. Hunter, Liggett California, and Nancy (Duane) Mabry of Baxley; brother, Elton (Katherine) Powell of lizell, Ga.; sister, Gail Thompson of Nunez; 11 grandchildren,10 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Faith Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2016 with Reverends Arthur Conley and Ricky Downs officiating.
Interment will follow in the Kite City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 pm. to 2 pm. Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Faith Baptist Church.
Pallbearers are Danny Dismuke, John Rollins, Lamar Richardson, Jimmy Waller, Hugh Brantley, Jerry Johnson, and Craig Williams.
