Chief Jesse Yawn aka “Pops” was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a devoted Fire Chief, city council member, first responder, community helper, and mechanic. He was a jack of all trades with a servant heart and was always available to those in need. He was born on September 10th, 1960 in Shelby Mississippi in his parent’s home. He grew up there in Mississippi and moved to Tennessee when he was 17 years old. In his early 20’s he became a dedicated member of the Bradley County Fire and Rescue. He was also apart of the Bradley County Sheriffs department. In 2002 he moved to Georgia and begin doing trail rides, and in a couple of years became the main mechanic at Charles Garage in Adrian Georgia. He quickly became affiliated with Adrian fire department and became the fire chief there in 2009. Jesse began working for himself in 2012 and started Yawn Repair. He owned that business until he passed. He was a helping hand to everyone and would give the shirt off of his back to a stranger. He married the love of his life, Kathy in 1997. He had 4 kids, 10 grandkids, and 1 great grand. He took care of everyone but especially his family. He was a great mentor and friend. He always answered his phone and always responded to any call he was toned out to. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, community, and those who knew him.
