Chris Hood

Mr. Chris Hood, 48, of Swainsboro passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Navicent Health following an extended illness.

Mr. Hood was born July 9, 1972 in Swainsboro to the late Wadell Hood and Barbara Stapleton Hood. He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents, Clarence and Louise Stapleton; paternal grandparents, Joe and Marie Hood. Mr. Hood enjoyed family get-togethers, fishing, and cooking for his family. His nieces, Joeley and Erin, were his world and he loved to spoil them. Mr. Hood worked for Daniels Chevorlet. He loved his church and church family. Mr. Hood spent most of his time heading up the brotherhood for his church. He had the heart of a servant and found his happiness by helping others. Mr. Hood looked for ways to love people and serve God. He was a faithful believer in Christ and left a huge impact on everyone he met. Mr. Hood was a member of Twin City First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his brothers, Randy (Brandi) Hood, Dean (Nedra) Hood, both of Swainsboro, William (Anita) Hood of Kite; sister, Eloise Hodges of Swainsboro; two special nieces, Joeley Hood, Erin Hood; several other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 29, 2020, 3 p.m. at Twin City First Baptist Church with Reverend Max Rodgers and Dr. Bill Perry officiating.

Interment will follow in Moxley Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 28, 2020 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Greg Johnson, Brandon Neal, Cliff Mason, Mark Wardrup, Wayne Greenway, Glenn Hendrix, Glenn Way, Jack Mincey, and Pete Peters.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Twin City First Baptist Church Brotherhood Members.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Chapman Funeral Home 427 N. Main St. Swainsboro, Ga. 30401.

In compliance with the guidelines set by the CDC, 6 feet rule will be enforced during viewing and service.
