Mrs. Claudette Sweat Brown, 76, of Swainsboro passed away Friday, October 30, 2026, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. She was born on January 1, 1950, in Dublin to the late Willie Barney Sweat and Loree Hammock Sweat.

Mrs. Claudette was preceded in death by her parents; son, James Akridge; brothers, Willie Sweat, Herman Sweat, Ronny Sweat; sisters, Marie H. Hammock, Burma S. Pacett, Wilhelmina S. Walden.

She was a funny, vibrant, and stylish woman who wore many special titles throughout her life: grandmother, sister, mother, wife, and aunt. No matter which role she was filling, she did it with love, laughter, and a heart devoted to her family.

She loved shopping at Belk, or anywhere she could find something she liked! She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family, and making memories with the people she loved most. She was always dressed to impress, with her nails and toes freshly manicured, and she was rarely sitting still. She was always on the go, enjoying life and making the most of every moment.

One of the greatest joys of her life was working alongside her husband. Whether they were farming, working on trucks, or mixing cement, they did it together. They were truly a team, standing side by side through life's many adventures. Their partnership was built on love, hard work, and a commitment to one another.

Family always came first for her. She took pride in caring for those she loved and was always there when her family needed her. Nothing could replace the smile that lit up her face when she talked about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were her pride and joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

She also loved taking trips with her sisters and other family members. Those outings were filled with laughter, fun, and memories that will be cherished for years to come. She believed in enjoying life, spending time with loved ones, and making every opportunity count.

Above all, she loved God and cherished the time she spent with her church family. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she found joy in worship, fellowship, and being surrounded by those who shared her love for the Lord.

She was one of a kind: funny, fashionable, hardworking, loving, and full of life. She had a personality that could light up a room, a smile that was unforgettable, and a heart that always made room for family and friends.

Though she will be deeply missed, the memories she created, the love she shared, and the example she set will live on through the many lives she touched. Her family will forever treasure the laughter, the adventures, the conversations, and all the little things that made her so special.

She wasn't just a part of her family's life; she was the heart of it.

Survivors include her husband, Walter Cleon “Buddy” Brown of Swainsboro; son, Lewis Akridge (Amy) of Swainsboro; brothers, Kenneth Sweat, Wain Sweat both of Wrightsville; sister, Shirley S. Underwood of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Taylor Canty (Jake), T.J. Purvis, Mallory Weber (Eric), Marlania Akridge; great-grandchildren, Bristol Weber, Mylee Weber, Evaline Clay Canty, Timber Canty; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
