February 19, 1962 — September 4, 2024

Twin City

Mrs. Connie Johnson Turner, 62, of Twin City passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at her residence.  She was born on February 19, 1962, in Emanuel County to Kenneth and Maudine Johnson. Mrs. Connie was preceded in death by her father and husband, Ronnie Turner.

She lived all her life in Emanuel County and was married to her high school sweetheart, Ronnie Turner, for 41 years before his death in 2023.

Connie graduated from Emanuel County Institute in 1980.  She worked as a paraprofessional with the Emanuel County School system and retired after 25 years.  Connie proudly held the nickname, “paraboss”, to her colleagues and students.  She was a volunteer firefighter for the Canoochee Fire Department before retiring after 20 years of service.

Connie and Ronnie operated their farm together and she spent summers canning pickles and jelly.  She was a devoted mother to her two sons, an active member of her church, Canoochee Baptist Church, and a loving “Goggie” to her six grandchildren. Peanut, her loving pet chihuahua, could be found by her side at any time. Connie loved spending time with her family more than anything.  She looked forward to vacations at the beach and frequent shopping trips with her mother, sister and nieces.
