Mr. Danny Allen Drummond, 73, of Midville passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Doctor’s Hospital in Augusta. He was born in Blight, MS on May 15, 1953, to the late Connor Troy Drummond and Gladys Marie Lowe Glover. Danny was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Daniel Glover; sister, Nancy Glover.
When Danny and Beverly married, they united two families and created one filled with light, love, and laughter. Of all his accomplishments in life, his greatest was his family. Serving his country for over 20 years as a strong and devoted veteran, he taught us the value of perseverance and sacrifice. Above all else, his family was his deepest pride and joy. He only ever wanted to make us proud, and we are all so proud to be his family.
Dad was a avid reader, especially of history. He could tell you everything about World War 2. He was a very proud veteran and believed everyone should respect the great United States of America. He taught all of us to work hard, play hard, love harder, and always do what's right.
He started the Explorers program at Johnson County, which led some of the members to go into a career in law enforcement. He started the first K9 program in Johnson County where he had Boomer and Buddy. Him and Boomer were credited with the largest meth bust in Johnson County.
He got to visit many area around the world while serving for the United States Army. From Germany, Greece, and Korea, he loved to tell stories from his travel adventures.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Beverly Drummond of Midville; children, Ricky Lambert, Donna Martin (Mark), both of Michie, TN, Sherry Coxwell of Bartow, Tiffany Whisnant (Jeremy) of Midville; brother, Todd Glover (Nancy) of Yorkville, IL; sister, Jacquie Pitre; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many friends.
Visitation will be Thursday June 11, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.
