Mr. David Coleman, 62, of Midville passed away Monday morning, September 12, 2016 at Augusta Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Coleman was born November 26, 1953 in Adrian, Ga. to the late Archie Bud Coleman and Ruby Lee Grant Coleman. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Vertis Coleman; sister, Myrtis Brinson. He grew up in Meeks, GA. Mr. Coleman later went to Swainsboro High School where he played football for the Tigers. His nickname was Red Dawg. Mr. Coleman loved to hunt, fish, spend time with his family and watch all of his grandchildren play ball.
Survivors include his wife, Eloise O. Coleman of Midville; daughters, Monica (Jeff) Benischeck of Fernandina Beach, FL., Nicole (Aaron) Powell of Midville, Amy (Shane) Hooks of Swainsboro, Emily (Daniel) Coyt of Jellico, TN.; brothers, Curtis (Janice) Coleman of Jackson, SC., Donald Coleman of Swainsboro, Paul (Virginia) Coleman of Meeks, Harold (Glenda) Coleman of Midville, Bobby (Denise) Lewis of Swainsboro; sisters, Judy Coleman of Fernandina Beach, FL., and Angie Coleman of Angier, NC.; grandchildren, Jeremy (Tiffany) Benischeck, Corey Benischeck, Hayley Dickerson, Blake Powell, Callie Powell, Jake Powell, Cole Hooks, Chandler Hooks, and Savannah Hooks: several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Union Grove United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, September 14, 2016 with Reverends Randy Carnley, Lee Pettis, and Rusty Moore officiating. Mr. Coleman will lie in state one hour prior to service.
Interment will follow in the Union Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, September 13, 2016 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Jason Lewis, Todd Coleman, Sammy Mills, III, Clay Coleman, Stan Coleman, and Andrew Anderson.
Honorary Pallbearers are Joey Boulineau, David Oglesby, Steve Oglesby, Jimmy Cheek, and Reamer Oglesby.
