Mr. David “Bud” Cowart, Jr., 71, of Twin City died Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the Emanuel Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Cowart was born in Portal but a life long residence of Emanuel County. He was preceded in death by his parents David Cowart Sr. and Bernice Newton Cowart; wife Valda Dawson Cowart. Mr. Cowart was of the Baptist faith and also loved fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his daughter, Faye Cowart of Twin City; stepdaughter, Michelle Gunn of Portal; son, Tommy Cowart of Denver CO; brother, Jerry Cowart of Portal; sisters, Ellen Cook of Bluffton SC, Dorothy Bolton of Portal, and Marilyn Calhoun of Statesboro; 2 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be private at a later date.
