Mr. David Lee Maddox, 82, of Adrian passed away Friday night, July 8, 2016 at Fairview Park Hospital following a brief illness.
Mr. Maddox was born April 26, 1934 in Wauchula, FL. to the late Lewis Maddox and Omah Lanier Maddox. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Barbara Maddox; son, David Maddox,Jr. Mr. Maddox lived most of his life in Johnson and Emanuel Counties, he had retired from Diamond Propane. He loved fishing, hunting, and gardening. Mr. Maddox was a member of Adrian Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Riner Maddox of Adrian; daughters, Lisa (Ken) Vickers, and Linda Powell both of Wrightsville, Tammy (Keith) Smith of Pembroke; son, Thomas (Darlene) Sanders of Pembroke; sister, Zona Parrish of Pickens, SC.; brother in law, Robert Ray Smith of Wauchula, FL.; grandchildren, Christopher Vickers, Caleb Vickers, and Rana (Brandon) Winfrey all of Wrightsville; great-grandson, Maddox Winfrey of Wrightsville; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home 11:00 AM Monday morning, July 11, 2016 with Reverends David Oliver and Burton Dixon officiating.
Interment will follow in the Sardis Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday evening, July 10, 2016 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Doyle Kersey, Adam Kersey, Harry Winfrey, Jimbo Hutcheson, Mike Henry, Jamie Henry, Tal Henry, John Claxton, Ben Scarborough, and Billy Anderson.
Honorary Pallbearers are the men of Adrian Baptist Church and Kite First Baptist Church.
