Mrs. Walker was born January 6, 1956 in Swainsboro to the late Bernard Scott and Jeanette Logan Scott. She was one of five children. Mrs. Walker was a life long resident of Emanuel County. She made sure her family’s needs were met by working more than one job sometimes three. Mrs. Walker was a caretaker to her family and friends. She was outspoken, protective and had a strong Christian faith. She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Lee Herrington of Swainsboro; daughters, Misty Walker (Christina Futch) of Brooklet, Julie (Wayne) Black of Twin City; son, Michael Walker of Swainsboro; brothers, Billy (Sue) Scott of Swainsboro, Randy (Paula) Scott of Midville and Marty Scott of Swainsboro; sister, Libby Hanson of Ft. Valley; grandchildren, Michael Walker, Jr., Maggie Walker both of Swainsboro, Josh Black, Jake Black and Jack Black all of Twin City, Jarett Morris and Abby Morris both of Swainsboro; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, October 21, 2014 with Reverend Rusty Moore officiating.
Interment will be in the Union Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening, October 20, 2014 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Richard Snell, Tim Holden, Jim Sherrod, Mike Johnson, George Carter and Lewis Faircloth.
Honorary Pallbearers are Dennis Meeks, Chris Johnson, Scott Williford, George
Kirkland, Andy Love, B. J. Scott and Caroll Morgan.
