Dereck Wayne Williams

Mr. Dereck Wayne Williams, 47, of Swainsboro passed away Thursday, July 7, 2022, at his residence following a brief illness.

Dereck was born October 22, 1974, in Swainsboro to Robert Glenn Williams and Laura Riner Mason. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Warren and Katherine Williams; maternal grandparents, Clint and Claudia Riner; brother, Michael Williams. During his life, he loved Arrowhead hunting, fishing, and spending time with his brothers. You could always catch him outside working and fixing things, he was an all-around hard worker. Dereck was a kind, selfless person who enjoyed making others smile. One thing about him was that no matter what he had going on, he loved to joke and make others laugh. While he was taken too soon from our world, his imprint of who he was will never leave. Until we meet again in Heaven, we all will miss you.

He is survived by his son, Gannon Williams of Swainsboro; daughter, Tiffany Black (Matt) of Bartow; father, Glenn Williams (Grace) of Kite; mother, Laura Mason (Barney) of Swainsboro; brothers, Robert Williams (Melanie) and Steve Williams (Dawn), all of Swainsboro, Paul Futch of Kite; sisters, Melinda Swift (James) of Augusta, Shelly Mulroney (Chris) and Sarah Martin (Joe), all of Swainsboro; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2022, in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Lamar Kersey and Reverend Joe Bedgood officiating.

Interment will follow in Sardis Primitive Baptist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be B. J. Conley, Kevin Diaz, Justin Swift, David Collins, Isaiah Rhinehardt, and Wes Scarboro.
