Mr. Don Edenfield, 58, of Swainsboro died late Monday night, October 17, 2011 at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Edenfield was born in Emanuel County where he lived all his life. He was preceded in death by his parents Otis Edenfield and Doris Hall Edenfield; brother, Jimmy Edenfield. Mr. Edenfield was a union worker, a member of Local Union 1263, Local Union 256, a member of the Swainsboro Moose Club and served in the U S Army. Mr. Edenfield loved nascar racing, and spending time with his family, friends, and especially his grandchildren. He attended Mt. Shady Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra J. Edenfield of Swainsboro; son, Kevin (Anetria) Edenfield of Swainsboro; stepsons, Matt Justice and Jeremy (Whitney) Justice both of Swainsboro; daughter, Kimberly Edenfield of Gadsden AL.; brother, Cleve (Sharon) Edenfield of Swainsboro; sisters, Shirley Henry of Kite and Jean (Juston) Newsome of Thompson; grandchildren, Gavin and Zera Edenfield of Swainsboro, Zaide Norton, Addyson Clemons, Madyson Clemons all of Gadsden AL, Jaylee and J.T. Justice of Swainsboro; special aunts, Marie Broadway of Durham NC and Susie Edenfield of Swainsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Mt. Shady Baptist Church at 11 o’clock Thursday, morning October 20, 2011 with Reverends Rusty Moore, and Wayne Page officiating and Elder Tommy Rountree officiating the committal service. Mr. Edenfield will Lie in State one hour prior to service. Burial will be in the Edenfield Cemetery near Swainsboro.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday October 19, 2011 at Chapman Funeral Home and the family will assemble at the residence of Kevin and Anetria Edenfield 151 Sandhill Rd. Swainsboro.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Hall, Johnny Edenfield, Paul Henry, Tal Wimberly, Gene Hall, Kyle Edenfield, James Akridge, Charles Woods and J. C. Morgan.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Local Union 1263, Local Union 256 and Swainboro Moose Club.
