On Wednesday, August 6th, 2025, Don Michael “Mikey” Corbin died suddenly while working out of town for Excell Refrigeration in Aiken, SC. He had been with the company for over 10 years as a refrigeration pipe fitter. Don Michael was originally from Swainsboro but made his home in Monks Corner, SC for the past 15 years.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Don Corbin, grandmother, Mary Corbin, father, James Colen Corbin, and “little mama” Judy Hillman.
Survivors include his mother, Patricia “PJ” Ettore; daughter, Alyssa Lyles; brother, Chad Ettore; and two sisters, Dawn (Chuck) Dawkins, and Becki (Ken) Clifton as well as his nephew, Ean Clifton (Amanda Bell), his great-nephews Colen and Corey Clifton and his life-long childhood friends, Rufus (Heather) Hannah and Eric Herrington.
He was known for his witty sense of humor, a smile that lit up the room, and his kind and generous heart.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you plant a tree in his honor or donate to a local animal shelter. A Celebration of Life will take place at a future date.
