Donnie Gay

Mr. Donnie Gay, 76, of Garfield passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born September 29, 1949, in Bulloch County to the late Jack Gay and Lois Oglesby Gay. Donnie was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles Gay, Hubert Gay; sisters, Shirley Porcel, Linda Gay, and Mary Gay.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Gay of Garfield; sons, Albert Gay (Johanna) of Swainsboro, Jay Gay (Roxanne) of Twin City, Dewayne Gay (Teah) of Garfield; daughter, Donya Henry (Marcus) of Swainsboro; sister, Betty Youngblood (Don) of Twin City; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2026, in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Brown officiating.

Interment will be at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 16, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are grandsons, Austin Farrow, Wesley Farrow, Gatlin Farrow, Brandon Gay, Jace Gay, Jayson Gay, Gavin Gay, Gage Gay and Graham Gay.
