Mrs. Dorothy Johnson Nobles, 69, died Monday, December 26, 2011, in the Scott Health and Rehabilitation Nursing Home from an extended illness.
Mrs. Nobles was born and lived part of her life in Johnson County, but moved to Maryland were she worked as a teacher’s assistance helping children with special needs prior to moving to Dublin. She was preceded in death by her parents George Johnson and Mary Lizzie Dickens Johnson, husband, James Livon Nobles, brothers Kenneth Johnson and Aaron Johnson, sister, Katherine Johnson Tapley.
Mrs. Nobles enjoyed gardening, cooking, being a homemaker and bowling. She was very active church member. She was of the Assembly of God faith.
Survivors include her sons, J. Stan (Tammy) Nobles of Salem VA, Mac Nobles of King George VA; brothers, Riley (Patsy) Johnson of Kite, Rayford Johnson of Swainsboro; sisters, Grace Reynolds of Bartow, Martha Lynn Rowland of Wrightsville; 2 grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Kite Church of God at 11 o’clock Friday morning December 30, 2011 with Reverend Allen Meeks officiating. Mrs. Nobles will Lie in State one hour prior to service. Burial will be in the Rehoboth cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday December 29, 2011 at Chapman Funeral Home.
