Mr. Dorsey Davis, 85, of Kite passed away Sunday Morning, March 20, 2016 at Emanuel Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Davis was born July 28, 1930 in Kite, Ga. to the late D.C. Davis and Marry Lizzie Lumpkin Davis . He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Talmadge Davis and Franklin Davis. Mr. Davis was a lifelong resident of Kite. He had worked with Swainsboro Printing and Finishing for 20 years also working 7 ½ years with Miami Carrier before retiring. Mr. Davis loved setting on the front porch.
Survivors include his wife, Myra Nell “Neli” Davis of Kite; sons, David (Jacquelyn) Davis of Dublin, and Gary Davis of Kite; granddaughters, Erica Davis and Lauren Davis both of Dublin; 3 nieces, 1 nephew and friends.
Funeral services will be at the Kite Church of God 3:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, March 22, 2016 with Reverend Allen Meeks officiating. Mr. Davis will lie in state one hour prior to service.
Interment will follow in the Kite City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm. Monday evening, March 21, 2016 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Jerry Hall, Larry Morris, Phil Morris, Walter Jenkins, Dennis Averett, and Edward Averett.
