Mr. Edward Keith Davis, 53, of Gibson died early Tuesday morning, August 9, 2011 in the McDuffie Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Davis was a native of Emanuel County before moving to Gibson. He was preceded in death by his parents Howell Davis and Hilda Chapman Dukes, brother, Larry Davis and sister Connie Meeks. Mr. Davis loved listening to gospel music and being with his family. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Midville.
Survivors include his sisters, Joan (Carroll) Morgan of Swainsboro, Debbie (Gaines) Smoak of Newington and Wanda Howell of Kite; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held in the Dellwood Baptist Church at 3 p.m. Friday August 12, with Reverend Joe Bedgood officiating. Burial will follow in the Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Shanon Averett, Wesley Averett, Shane Averett, Eric McElwain, Junior Barnes and Ben Woods.
Honorary Pallberarers will be the Dellwood Baptist Church Youth Group.
