Elmer Lewis Wilson

Mr. Elmer Lewis Wilson, 61, of Augusta passed away Monday, May 20, 2024, at WellStar MCG in Augusta.  He was born December 8, 1962, in Ft. Leavenworth, KS to W. L. Wilson and Dorothy King.  He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Ruthie Wilson.

Elmer was an amazing person, with a huge heart.  He was a great son, father, husband and brother.  Elmer loved his family and spending time with them more than anything.  If he said he had your back, he was there.  Elmer was a huge fan of classic rock and roll and Lynyrd Skynyrd.  He loved listening to music and motorcycles, especially a classic old-school Harley Davidson.  Elmer liked to laugh and tell jokes and stories from growing up.  Most of all, he loved his family.  His son was his best friend.  And he cherished time with his wife, parents, brother and the rest of his family.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine Wilson of Augusta; father, W. L. Wilson of Norristown; mother, Dorothy King of Augusta; sons, Tyler Wilson (Gabby) and Michael S. Franklin, both of Augusta; daughter, Kelly Brooks of Augusta; grandson, London Brooks of Augusta; brother, Robert Wilson (Kay) of Locust Grove; aunt, Barbara Headden; other family members and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 25, 2024, 11:00 a.m., at Norristown Baptist Church with Pastor Adam Butler officiating.

Interment will be at Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 24, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Kevin Wilson, Logan Wilson, John Wilson, Trent Wilson, Von Wilson and Jon McNeely.
