Mr. Elmer T. Price, 91, of Kite died Sunday evening, December 7, 2014 at his residence following a brief illness.
Mr. Price was born in Kite to the late M.D. Price and Ada Page Price. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Peebles Price; brothers, Gordon Price, Leonard Price and Arlie Price; sisters, Reba Price, Susie Mae Winfrey and Dell Price. Mr. Price was a life long resident of Johnson County and served in the United States Army. He was a retired carpenter from the Carpenters Union. Mr. Price loved carpenter work, gardening and fishing. He was a member of the Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sons, Donnie (Gail) Price of Swainsboro and Johnny Price of Kite; grandchildren; Joel (Jennifer) Price of Dublin, Cristy (Todd) Ellington of Swainsboro, Mack Price of Swainsboro, Chelsea Price of Kite, Kelly Price of Kite and Toby Price of Hillsboro; 5 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church at 11 o’clock Wednesday morning December 10, 2014 with Reverend Ray Jenkins officiating. Mr. Price will Lie in State one hour prior to service.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday December 9, 2014 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Joel Price, Mack Price, Trey Ellington, Seneca Lawrence, Larry Brantley and Donald Peebles.
