Eugene Oneal Atchison

Mr. Eugene Oneal (Gene) Atchison entered this world on January 24, 1934 born to Eugene (Shadrack) Atchison and Maudie Mae Lindsey Atchison.  He now has his angel wings and left his earthly body on Thursday, January 9, 2025.  Gene was the 5th child of 10.  He drove on the road for nearly 50 years.

Mr. Atchison was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ora Atchison, Roger Atchison, Jackie Atchison, Carl Atchison, Joe Atchison; sisters, Ruby Morgan, Margie Burden; wife, Diane Lee Fry Atchison.

Survivors include his wife, Edna D. Atchison; sons, Windell Atchison (Annie) of Ft. McCoy Fl,, Kenneth “Corky” Atchison of Cooksville, IL; daughters, Alice Jean Gravitt of Saybrook, IL, Peggie Christopher of Arcadia, IN; Bernadette (Jim) Mayeran of Ekron, KY; step son, Timothy Asbury (Belinda) of Macon; step-daughters, Carol Simmons (David) of Leesburg, Liana Asbury of NH; brother, Clay Atchison of Owensboro, KY; sister, Gusty Bartelmay of Minier, IL; 21 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Southside Baptist Church with Evangelist Jeff Stark officiating.

Funeral Services to be held at a later date at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, IN.

Committal to be held at Hackleman Cemetery in Rockport, IN.
