Mrs. Eula Mae Hughes, 82, of Twin City passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at her residence following an extended illness.

Mrs. Hughes was born April 21, 1940, in Twin City to Doc Carswell and Ebbie Ramsey Carswell. She was preceded in death by her parents; Mr husband, Willie Frank Hughes; son, David Hughes; brothers, Willie Carswell, Eddie Carswell, Doc Carswell, Jr., Jimmy Carswell; sisters, Lucille Carswell, Annie Rucker, Jean Carswell, and Carrie Carswell.

She is survived by her son, John Hughes of Twin City; daughters, Cheryl Moody and Carol Hughes, both of Twin City; sisters-in-law, Julia Mae Carswell and Annie Kate Wadley, both of Swainsboro, Dale Carswell of Twin City; 15 grandchildren, 25 greatgrandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Sunday, June 26, at Freddie's Temple in Twin City with Pastor Dwana Hughes officiating.

Interment will follow in Eastbrook Cemetery & Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Hughes’s grandsons.
