Mrs. Evelyn S. McBride, 90, of Swainsboro passed away Wednesday night, August 16, 2017 at Pruitt Health Nursing Home following an extended illness.
Mrs. McBride was born September 30, 1926 in Emanuel County, Georgia to the late Daniel Stroud and Mary Beckworth Stroud. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rudolph “Doc” McBride; daughters, Nancy Burke and Janice Overstreet; brothers, Walter, Billy, Bobby, and Edward Stroud. Mrs. McBride was a lifelong resident of Emanuel County retiring from Creston after 30 years. She loved traveling, especially to the beach and her heart was always open to animals. Mrs. McBride was admired for her strong work ethic. She was a member of Swainsboro First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Edmonds of Columbus, Ohio, Jean Moore of Swainsboro, Joan Turner (Gary) of Swainsboro, and Judy Bomeisl (Greg) of Woodstock; sisters, Beatrice Allen of Swainsboro and Barbara Phillips of Soperton; sister-in-law, Helen McBride Bishop (William) of Culloden; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Memorial Services will be held at New Beginnings Worship Center at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2017 with Reverend Tim Price officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2017 at New Beginnings Worship Center.
