Mrs. Fannie P. Fennell, 90, of Swainsboro died Friday, August 8, 2014 at the Ogeechee Area Hospice House in Statesboro following an extended illness.
Mrs. Fennell was born June 22, 1924 in Swainsboro to the late John A. Perkins and Rittie Riner Perkins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Fennell; son, Randy Ray Fennell; brothers, Harvey Perkins, Horace Perkins, Johnny Perkins; sisters, Annie Chalker, Pearl Bishop, Mattie Chapman, Ella Scarboro. Mrs. Fennell worked in the school lunch room for 12 years and was a homemaker. Mrs. Fennell collected dolls, ducks and loved to cook and give to others. She was a member of the Mt. Olivet Primitive Baptist Church in Aline GA.
Survivors include her sons, Elder Wayne Fennell of Swainsboro and Jerry (Lynn) Fennell of Sardis; grandchildren, Roy Wayne Fennell, Jr. of Swainsboro, Jeanann (Mike) Bennett of Jacksonville, FL; great grandchildren, Michael John Bennett of Jacksonville, FL, Jasmine Ashley Fennell and Gabrielle Madison Fennell both of Callahan FL, several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Monday afternoon, August 11, 2014 with Elder Lee Chambers officiating. Interment will be in the Swainsboro City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening, August 10, 2014 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
