Franklin "Shank" Davis III

Franklin “Shank” Davis III, 62, of Kite passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026. He was born on November 2, 1963, in Swainsboro to the late Franklin Davis, Jr. and Martha Heath Ivey.

He was preceded in death by his father, Franklin Davis, Jr.; grand-mothers, Big Ma Kitty Davis, Granny Audrey Heath.

Shank graduated from the class of 1981 at Belleville High School in Texas. He then went on to join the Army in 1983 and served his country proudly. After an honorable discharge he started driving a semi-truck for 20 years. Frank met the love of his life Timmie, and they were together for 24 wonderful years. Together they had a beautiful, blended family. After retiring from truck driving, he went to work for the City of Kite. He took great pride in Kite, dedicating himself to serving the people of Kite and helping keep the community looking its best.

He is survived by his wife, Timmie Davis of Kite; mother, Martha Ivey of Kentucky; sister, Margie Davis (Jerry) of Corbin, KY; children, Heather Davis of Kite, Brad Dorroh (Betty) of Fayetteville, NC, Travis Dorroh (Michelle) of Fayetteville, NC, Byron Roberts of Kite; 5 grandchildren, Frankie, Tigo, Noah, Aaron, Kaileigh; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026, in the Kite City Cemetery to celebrate the life of a great man. Mr. Robert Bedenbaugh will be officiating.

He will be missed deeply by all who had the privilege of crossing his path.
