Mrs. Gail Diane Bowden Bragg, of Hull, GA, formerly of Swainsboro, GA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at the age of 72, after an eight-month battle with cancer. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and was surrounded by her loving family as she entered her rest with the Lord.

Born on November 8, 1951, in Augusta, GA, Gail was a shining light to all who knew her. She worked for over 20 years as a hospice administrator for Pruitt Health, and fittingly, was blessed to receive hospice care herself in the end. Gail was known for her beautiful smile, fierce spirit, encouraging heart, and her passion for family, God, and community.  She loved playing the piano, decorating, organizing, and being surrounded by her loved ones.

Mrs. Bragg is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Melrose Bowden, of Douglasville, GA.

She is survived by her husband, one sister, four children, three sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, 11 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was married to John Bragg for 54 years.  Her sister is Joanne Nicoll (Regis) of Chattanooga, TN. Her children are Bridget Duliakis (Gus) of Jacksonville, FL, Gidget Maybin (Doug) of Mount Vernon, Julie Cassell (Brad) of Mount Dora, FL, and Christopher Bragg (Heather) of Bogart.  She was also a proud grandmother to Jessica, Sarah, Kristen, Mary, Ian, Mason, Adam, Benjamin, Liam, Samuel, and Charlee.

Mrs. Bragg was a member of the Athens, GA, Seventh-day Adventist Church and had a passion for serving her local and faith communities.  As an Adventist for over 40 years, she served as an elder, treasurer, pianist, choir member, clerk, educational superintendent, greeter, and various other roles. She also served her local community, volunteering in Boy Scouts, Community Choir, and Rotary Club.

A celebration of Gail's life will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, in Swainsboro, GA. Visitation with the family will be at Chapman Funeral Home from 12 – 1:30 pm, with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Swainsboro. Her son-in-law, Pastor Brad Cassell, will preside over the services.
