Mr. Gary Lawson Lindsey, 71, of Kite passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Lindsey was born March 5, 1950, in Kite to the late Enoch L. Lindsey and Alma Lou Kight Lindsey. He is preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Lindsey was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Gary was the prime example of a family man. Everything he did was for his family. His son, Justin, was his pride and joy. He didn’t miss an opportunity to watch him play ball. He spent countless hours on a ball field cheering him on. Not only was he a devoted father, but he was also a loving husband to his wife, Teresa, of forty-four years. They made many precious memories as husband and wife. Gary also loved to fish, tend the garden, and build any and everything he could think of in his shop. Gary was employed for 32 years at Husqvarna in Swainsboro, GA, as a maintenance supervisor. He took great pride in his home and his cabin because he built them both with his own two hands and a little help from friends and family. The only thing he enjoyed more than fishing and being outside was watching his grandkids play ball.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Wilkerson Lindsey of Kite; son, Justin (Lauren) Lindsey of Kite; brother, Edward (Frances) Lindsey; grandchildren, Layton Lindsey, Lennox Kate Lindsey, Hadleigh Blake Lindsey; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral Services will be 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Williams Chapel Baptist Church with Reverends Lamar Kersey and Allen Meeks officiating.
