Mr. Gerald “Dunk” Graham, Sr., 80, of Statesboro passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at his residence. He was born February 8, 1946, in Pembroke to the late Jobie Graham and Louise Crosby Graham. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; wife for 43 years, Bonnie Faye Lanigan Graham; son, Gerald Graham “Bubbie”, Jr.; grandsons, Marcus Hodges, Trent Graham; great-grandchildren, Armani Jenkins, Tiana Jenkins; eight brothers and three sisters.
Gerald was a loving husband, father, and PaPa. Known as “Dunk” to his family and friends, he was someone people could always count on. He was hardworking and never hesitated to lend a helping hand when someone needed it. Gerald proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as a radio dispatcher and sharpshooter. He loved being busy and working with his hands. Whether he was cutting grass, working on vehicles, or building something in his workshop, he was happiest when he had a project to tackle. He had a lifelong love of cars and racing. He enjoyed watching fast cars and attending races. He especially enjoyed the Gatornationals and attended several times over the years.
Gerald attended services at Oak Grove Baptist Church and was re-baptized there. His faith was important to him, and he found joy in worship and singing at church whenever he had the opportunity. More than anything, Gerald loved his family and friends. He will be remembered for his kind heart, strong work ethic, willingness to help others, and the many memories he created with those he loved. His presence will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his daughters, Christy Brazell (Wally) of Portal, Jammi Graham of Statesboro; brother, David Graham of Savannah; sister, Marie Bargeron of Statesboro; granddaughters, Jasimin Jenkins (Raytez) of Riverview FL, Kelly Chapman (Trey) of Statesboro; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Graveside Service will be Sunday June 7, 2026, at 4:00 pm at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Thomas Hendrix officiating.
The family will receive friends at Chapman Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday June 7, 2026.
