Mr. Gerald Anthony Scott, 85, of Twin City passed away Sunday, May 3, 2026, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. He was born on March 8, 1941, in Blythe to the late Reecie Scott and Mary Lou Kersey Scott. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce Scott; brothers, Wayne Scott, Kenny Scott; sisters, Libby Boatright and Carolyn Rogers.
Gerald was a skilled carpenter and the owner of Scott’s Mobile Homes, known for his hard work and craftsmanship. He loved the simple things in life, working his cows, spending time on his tractor, and caring for his land. He also enjoyed collecting antiques and raising all kinds of birds, from exotic tropical ones to his chickens.
He took great pride in his yard and flowers, always keeping them just right. More than anything, he enjoyed visiting with his neighbors and sharing what he had, whether it was fresh eggs, peaches, or grapes. Gerald will be remembered for his kind heart, generosity, and the life he built doing what he loved.
He is survived by his son, Randy Scott (Vera) of Kite; daughters, Keila Perkins (Nick) of Swainsboro, Nikkia Mathis (Russell) of Statesboro; grandchildren, Scarlett Scott, Zade Anna O’Neal (Matthew), Zaren Williford, Caroline Mathis, Marybeth Mathis; special lifelong friend, Mac Gignilliat; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Harrell officiating.
Interment will follow at Union Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
Pallbearers will be Kenton Scott, Reecie Scott, Jonathon Scott, Chat Jones, Matthew O’Neal, Slade Williamson and Ridge Henry.
