Mr. Gilbert Jolly, Jr., 88, of Swainsboro passed away Thursday morning, October 6, 2016 at his residence following a brief illness.
Mr. Jolly was born March 11, 1928 in Maggie Valley, North Carolina to the late Gilbert Jolly, Sr. and Maggie Kinsland. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Tina Jolly; grandson, Allen Jolly; 4 sisters, and 1 brother. Mr. Jolly drove a truck for Carolina Freight for 43 years before retiring. He loved his grandkids, nascar racing, gardening, and his dog “Jazzy”. Mr. Jolly was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Helen Rich Jolly of Swainsboro; son, Cubby Jolly of North Carolina; daughter, Patsy Neal of McRae; sister, Darlene Jolly of North Carolina; grandchildren, Felicia Neal, Kayla Neal, Arica Campbell, and Kristy Choates; 8 Great- Grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. Sunday evening, October 9, 2016 with Bro. Lamar Way officiating.
Interment will be in the Hall Cemetery, Swainsboro.
The family will receive friends from 1 pm. until 3 pm. Sunday afternoon, October 9, 2016 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Josh Gray, Charles Neal, Blake Henry, Will Rich, Bryan Campbell and Donnie Rich.
