Glenda Richards

Mrs. Glenda L. Richards, 80, of Swainsboro passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021, at her residence following an extended illness.

Mrs. Richards was born June 2, 1941, to George Kytle Logan and Lydia Mae Turner Logan.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Smokey Richards; infant son, Robert Lanier Richards; sisters, Jeanette Scott and Dorcille Logan; brothers, Eugene Logan and Linton Logan.  Mrs. Richards was a home body and an avid sports fan that loved the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves.  She loved to read the Bible, listen to gospel music, and enjoyed word search puzzles.  She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her son, Byron Carroll of Vidalia; brother, Ronnie Logan of Swainsboro; sister, Judy Chapman of Swainsboro; granddaughter, Lindsey Carroll of Vidalia; great grandchildren, Isy Reeves and Cam Reeves; special niece, Missy (Gene) Hadden of Swainsboro; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2021, in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Roger Holley officiating.

Interment will follow at Sardis Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are R.J. Phillips, Allen Logan, Jim Sherrod, Gene Hadden, Trent Lewis and George Carter.
