Mr. Glenn Henry, 63, of Swainsboro passed away Saturday afternoon, March 26, 2016, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center Statesboro following an extended illness.
Mr. Henry was born July 14, 1952 in Dublin, Ga. to Edwin Green Henry and Grace Hickox Dupper. He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Green Henry, brother, Randy Henry. Mr. Henry showed what kind of a fighter he was at age 7 when he was diagnosed with polio and spent over a year in the hospital, he had to learn how to do everything all over again. He was a hard worker, working years at Emanuel Medical Center as an orderly and later working for Harveys as a bagger. Mr. Henry never meet a stranger, he loved people and loved talking to people and he especially loved his family. Mr. Henry collected knives, liked fishing and watching football.
Survivors include his mother, Grace Hickox Dupper of Swainsboro; brother, Richard L. Henry of Macon; sisters, Debra Henry (Randy Mulrooney) of Midville, Brenda (John) Horne of Cartersville, Jan Yarbrough of Alabama; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home 1:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, March 30, 2016 with Reverend Timothy Nary and Brother Lamar Way officiating.
Interment will follow in the Eastbrook Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:30am. to 1pm. Wednesday afternoon, March 30, 2016 at Chapman Funeral Home.
