Mr. Glenn L. “Sonny” McAlister, 74, of Wrightsville died Thursday, January 13, 2011.
Mr. McAlister was born in Paducah, Kentucky and was a son of the late Alvin Wade and Virginia Warden McAlister. He served in the United States Air Force and the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was Blessed and Baptized as an infant in the Methodist Faith.
Survivors include his wife, Irene McAlister, Kite; daughters, Reana McAlister Campbell, Utah, Penny McAlister, Dublin, Wendy McAlister, Swainsboro, Lisa McAlister Hightower, Florida, and Peggy McAlister, Kite; 15 grandchildren; 5 great-grandsons; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 2 o’clock Monday, January 17, with the Rev. Mark Hardin officiating. Burial will be in Kite City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be the Georgia National Guard Honor Guard and the daughters of Mr. McAlister will escort him with love.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, January 16.
