Mrs. Gloria Dawn Perkins, 76, of Swainsboro passed away Friday, September 9, 2016 at Select Specialty Hospital in Augusta following an extended illness.
Mrs. Perkins was born August 23, 1940 in Camden, S.C. to the late John Riggins and Mildred Clayton Riggins. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Perkins was the owner of Gloria’s Day Care for 5 years and was a licensed Practical Nurse for 20 years before retiring. She loved working in the yard, fishing, and cooking. Mrs. Perkins was a loving wife and mother. She was a member of MorningSide Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Eustus Perkins of Swainsboro; sons, Gary Perkins (Donna Stevens) of Okeechobee, FL. And Larry (Julie) Perkins of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Victoria Perkins, Jake Perkins, Gary Perkins, Jr., Steve Perkins, Terry (Wayne) Coxwell, Mark Perkins, and Jessica Jones; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon, September 11, 2016 with Reverends Louis Pierce and Ronnie Collins officiating.
Interment will follow in the Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday evening, September 10, 2016 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Joey Gibson, Jody Gibson, Douglas Braddy, Darrell Hill, Joseph Gibson, and Brandon Hill.
Honorary Pallbearers are Georgia State Patrol.
