Mrs. Gloria Jean Claxton Scarboro, 66, of Swainsboro passed away Friday, January 3, 2025, at her residence following an extended illness. She was born June 27, 1957, in Swainsboro to the late Carvie Claxton, Sr. and Thelma Alma Claxton Gregory. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jeanine Summers, brother, Carvie “Buddy” Claxton, Jr. She enjoyed crocheting and reading. Gloria loved birds, dogs and especially her family. She was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include her husband, Randall Martin Scarboro, Sr., of Swainsboro; son, Randall Scarboro, Jr. (Jennifer) of Smyrna; daughters, Stacie Scarboro-Youmans (Brandon) of Silverlake, OR, Annie Hammrick (Allen) of Utah; brother, Glen Claxton of Bethonia; sisters, Mary Wilson of Kingsland, Patricia Radford of Augusta, Linda Scarboro of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Daisy Youmans, Kaleb Youmans; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Graveside Service will be 3:30 P.M., Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Bithynia Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Phil Wilson officiating.
The family will receive friends at Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
