Mrs. Glynda Hooks, 69, of Kite passed away Monday, August 9, 2021, at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Hooks was born December 26, 1951, in Sandersville, GA to the late Mary Thelma Cooper. She was preceded in death by her mother; sisters, Lynda Smith, Cheryl Lamb; great-granddaughter, Kinley Grace Smisson. Mrs. Hooks obtained a business degree from Southeastern Technical College in Swainsboro and retired from Roper Industries. She loved going to ballgames to watch her grandchildren, attending yard sales, completing jigsaw puzzles, and reading books. She was a member at Kite Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, Alton Hooks, Sr. of Kite; son, Rock Hooks (Cassie) of Kite; daughter, Tera Claxton (Clifford) of Kite; grandchildren, Chris (Tiffany) Mimbs, Wesley (Racheal) Smisson, Kyle (Courtney) Hooks, Wade (Cheyenne) Claxton, Adam Hooks, Jada Claxton, Gauge Ambrose, J.D. Ambrose; great- grandchildren, Raelyn Romig, Remington Smisson, Jaxson Smisson, Lincoln Smisson, Hudson Hooks, Katie Carter, Taylor Carter; special friend, Debra Pate of Wrightsville; many friends.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Kite Church of God with Reverends Allen Meeks and Lamar Kersey officiating.
Interment will follow at Kersey Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Grandchildren.
