Mr. Glynn A. Garvin, 77, of Twin City passed away Monday December 5, 2022, at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Garvin was born January 29, 1945, in Statesboro to Enoch Garvin and Lonie Johnson Garvin. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Catherine Wilkerson Garvin; sons, Lee Rachels, Allen Rachels; daughter, Betty Sellers, Rose Mary Rachels; brother, Lamar Garvin; sister, Martha Cleary. Mr. Garvin loved farming and working on old cars. He was a retired corrections officer from the State of Georgia.
Survivors include his sons, Glenn Wilkerson (Carveta) of Waynesboro, Roy Rachels (Donna) of Swainsboro; daughter, Catherine Marie Hendley (Craig) of Twin City; brother, H.D. Garvin (Jack); niece, Wanda Mann of Pensacola, FL; nephew, Billy Cleary of Pensacola, FL; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2022, in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Pastor Dale Wilkerson officiating.
Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Portal.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Lovett, Travis Slater, Cody Rachels, Colton Wilkerson, Lamar Rachels, and Arion Waters.
