Grable Wilson

August 27, 1935 — March 29, 2013

Mr. Grable Wilson, 77, of Swainsboro died Friday afternoon, March 29, 2013 at the University Hospital in Augusta following an extended illness.

Mr. Wilson was a life long residence of Emanuel County.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom Wilson and Sally Mae Hall Wilson; brother, Bo Wilson; sisters, Artie Nell Edenfield, Grace Douglas and Tommie Henry.  Mr. Wilson loved fishing, hunting, working on the farm and drinking coffee with the Hardee’s Coffee Club.  His world revolved around his grandchildren.  Mr. Wilson retired from Husqvarna Outdoor Products in the tool and die department.  He was a member of Mt Shady Baptist Church for 49 years.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mildred Wilson of Swainsboro; son, Larry (Debbie) Wilson of Swainsboro; daughters, Ellen (Charles) Akridge and Susan (Dennis) Hopkins both of Swainsboro; brother, Elbert (Barbara) Wilson of Swainsboro; sister, Sally Robertson of Swainsboro; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews

Funeral services will be held at Mt. Shady Baptist Church at 2 o’clock Monday, afternoon April 1, 2013 with Reverends Wilmer Hall, Wayne Page and Rusty Moore officiating.  Mr. Wilson will Lie in State one hour prior to service.  Burial will be in the Eastbrook Cemetery near Swainsboro.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday March 31, 2013 at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Mikell Clifton, Burke Rigdon, Jeremy Parrish, Cody Hopkins, Matt Murry, Derrick Wilson, Dustin Brantley and Giles Way.

Honorary pallbearers are the Hardee’s Coffee Club.
