Mrs. Grace Douglas Grant, 86, of Swainsboro died Sunday morning, March 30, 2014 at the Emanuel County Nursing Home following an extended illness.
Mrs. Grant was born in Meeks Georgia to the late Wiley Douglas and Ila Mae Walden Douglas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Grant; daughter, Glenda Grant; son, Charles Grant. Mrs. Grant lived in Johnson County until 1986 when she moved to Swainsboro to be with her family. Mrs. Grant loved fishing, gardening and was a homemaker. She was of the Nazarene faith.
Survivors include her daughters, Elaine (Billy) James of Meeks, Sue (Billy) Scott of Swainsboro and Mary Ann Grant of Swainsboro; brother, Grable Douglas of Pembroke; sister, Wilma Wheeler of Swainsboro; 8 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at the Sardis Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, April 1, 2014 with Rev. Ervin Stapleton officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening, March 31, 2014 and Tuesday, April 1, 2014 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Dennis Meeks, Daniel Meeks, William James, Shannon Scott, Luke Scott and Dylan Sapp.
