Grady Donald Shirey, Jr.

Mr. Grady Donald Shirey, Jr., 54, of Perry, GA, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2026 in Kite, GA. He was born on June 18, 1972 to Grady Donald Shirey, Sr. and Geri Brady Shirey Truitt.

His is preceded in death by his father, Grady Donald “Don” Shirey, Sr., and a brother, Jason Shirey.

Grady Shirey was a man you would never forget; he never met a stranger and never met someone he would not help. Grady was a Christian who loved family and adventure; he was always willing to spend time hunting, fishing, and off-roading, especially with friends and family. Above all, Grady was a father. He loved his three boys more than anything, and he would help and support them in anything they did, but he taught them to stand on their own, teaching all he could. He loved working alongside them on any project, simply enjoying spending time together; his favorite thing was fixing cars with his sons. At his core, Grady was a man of love although he was never one to say it, he showed his love through everything he did, both to people and animals, especially his dog Tucker. His willingness to serve, love, and the way he lived his life made him a man you can never forget.

He is survived by his sons, William Grady Shirey, Carson Patrick Shirey, Carter Bradley Shirey, all of Perry, GA, his mother, Geri Shirey Truitt (Tommy) of Barnesville, several cousins and other family members.

Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 6, 2026, in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Mr. Carter Shirey, Mr. Carson Shirey, and Mr. Mark Coffee officiating. The family will receive friends for an hour prior to the service.

Flowers will be accepted but donations may be made in memory of Mr. Grady Donald Shirey, Jr. to Friends of Perry Animal Shelter (FOPAS) at 204 Kellwood Dr., Perry Ga 31069.
