Mr. Henry Tillman Wheeler, Sr., 87, of Swainsboro died Thursday morning, September 12, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Wheeler was born in Metter to the late Elzie Gordon Wheeler and Inez Cowart Wheeler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise W. Wheeler, two brothers and one sister. Mr. Wheeler lived most of his life in Emanuel County. Mr. Wheeler was in the United States Army and served in World War II. He loved fishing, hunting and raising goats and chickens.
Survivors include his son, Henry T. Wheeler, Jr. of Swainsboro; daughter, Sandra Vawter of Adrian; grandchildren, Jennifer Wheeler of Twin City, Terasharee Worden and Nicholas Bussiere both of Gustine, CA, Daniel Bussiere of Avon Park, FL and Jaclyn Bussiere of Seabring FL; Special Caretakers, Regina Walker, Ronald Walker and Nancy Claxton all of Swainsboro; 6 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 11:00 o’clock Saturday morning, September 14, 2013 with Reverend Ronnie Young officiating. Interment will be in the Wheeler Cemetery near Kite.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 13, 2013 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Henry T. Wheeler, Jr., Ronald Walker, Scott Cochran and Carlos Alicea.
