Hilda Grimes

Mrs. Hilda Juanita Grimes, 82, of Garfield, passed away on Friday, January 06, 2023, at Emanuel County Nursing home following an extended illness.

Mrs. Grimes was born on August 4, 1940, in Swainsboro to the late Rufus Bishop and Evelyn F. Williams. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sons, Jeffrey Daniel Lane, Todd Allen Lane, and L.D. Lane

She is survived by her sons, Carl Lane (Terry) of Dawsonville, Chris Lane (Carol) of Twin City, W.C. Grimes (Dianna) of Twin City; brother, Lavone Bishop (Lillian) of Augusta; sisters, Erue Jackson of Garfield, Melba Mons (David) of Millen; grandchildren, Kim Johnson, Daniel Lane, Justin Williams, Jessica Lane, L.D. Lane Jr., Carrie Richardson, Brad Lane, Brittany Lane, Drew Grimes, Kinley Grimes; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; many nephews, nieces, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Garfield United Methodist Church with Reverend Tom Tidwell officiating.

Interment will follow in Hebron Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Garfield United Methodist Church.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Jackson, Justin Williams, Drew Grimes, Brad Lane, Daniel Lane, and Michael Bishop.
