Mrs. Ida Ann McGahee, 71, of Midville died Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. McGahee was born October 30, 1942 in Lyons GA to Leon T. Ansley and Bertha McMillian Ansley. She was preceded in death by her father, Leon T. Ansley; husband, Henry Ronald McGahee; son, Gary Ronald McGahee; sister, Arlene Copeland. Mrs. McGahee lived in Lyons until she moved to Statesboro in 1962. She also lived in Manchester GA for 25 years until moving to Emanuel County in 2011. Mrs. McGahee loved to sing, collect dolls, cook, crochet and make crafts. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her mother, Bertha McMillian Ansley of Lyons; sons, Gregory Paul McGahee of Port Wentworth GA and Steven Jeffery McGahee (Pam Reid) of Byron GA; daughters, Julie Ann McGahee of Statesboro, Brenda Carol McGahee of Portal and Linda McGahee (Melvin) Radford of Midville; sister, Geraldine Copeland of Blairsville GA; 17 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon, February 27, 2014 with Rev. Randy Walden officiating and Rev. Arthur Conley assisting. Interment will be in the Bulloch Memorial Gardens in Statesboro GA.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening, February 26, 2014 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Gregory Paul McGahee, II, Johnathan McGahee, Brandon McGahee, Johnathan Kelly McNamar, Andy McGlashan and Keith Radford.
