Irene Caraway Mcgee

Mrs. Irene Caraway McGee, 70, of Swainsboro, GA. passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Memorial Health following an extended illness.

Mrs. McGee was born September 13, 1948 in Uvalda, Ga. to the late Clyde Caraway and Gladys Stephens Caraway. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy McGee; brother, James Caraway. Mrs. McGee was an LPN and also the Business Manager for McGee’s Plumbing and Electrical for over 20 years. She enjoyed going to the mountains, decorating, working with her flowers, and spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. McGee was a member of Trinity Assembly of God in Soperton.

Survivors include her sons, Beau McGee of Swainsboro, and Bill McGee of Metter; daughter, Lisa Bussell (Jimmy) of Murfreesboro, TN. and, Amy McGee of Metter; brothers, Gene Caraway (Terri) of Garfield, Melvin Caraway (Kathy) of McRae, and Gary Caraway of Uvalda; grandchildren, Jackson McGee, Conor Lumley, Isabella Lumley, Caleb Burgett, Ian Burgett, McClain Burgett, Marli McGee, Marci Bowers, and Jaren Bussell; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral Services will be in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home 11 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2019 with Pastor Heath Wingard and Randall Williford officiating.

Interment will be in the Holton Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery with Rev. Ray Jenkins officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are John McGee, Nicholas Brown, Dean McNure, Chris Newsome, Glenn Rogers, and Tim Rich.
